Workshop on explanatory proposals of movement 23rd-24th august 2008 classroom 119 Facing Movement will take place during the Linguistic Institute in Barcelona. This workshop intends to gather people working on any aspect of syntax that may or may not involve movement. Nowadays there are theoretical explanations that assume that elements in the sentence are generated in situ and other explanations that assume movement. All topics on any aspect of movement (head movement, operator movement, A movement) and its acquisition will be considered. Meeting clitics Workshop on explanatory proposals of clitics 23rd-24th august 2008 classroom 110 Meeting Clitics will take place during the Linguistic Institute in Barcelona. This workshop intends to gather people working on any aspect of clitics. Nowadays there are theoretical explanations that assume that clitics are morphemes of the verb and other explanations that assume that they are constituents in the sentence. Also, some proposals assume that clitics are generated in situ and other proposals assume that they have movement. With respect to the acquisition of clitics, some studies find clitic omission, sometimes depending on language groups. All topics on clitics and its acquisition will be considered.
